Fiona

Personal Chef, Culinary Specialist

Fiona McGarry is a lifelong San Francisco resident with an abiding passion for food. She started cooking in childhood, learning from her father, who spent years cooking alongside French chefs on sailboats. While attending Humboldt State University, she began learning more about the food industry and developed a deep, ongoing interest in sustainability and the weaknesses of our industrial food system. She spent five years at Ne Timeas Restaurant Group, moving from front-of-house to prep cook to line cook at Central Kitchen and Flour + Water, where she worked alongside many talented chefs and cooks, including Ryan Pollnow and Thomas McNaughton. During the pandemic, her tastes and priorities shifted from fine dining to simpler, healthier, home-cooked meals.

When she isn't cooking, Fiona spends as much time as she can at her local ceramics studio, developing her hand skills. An avid reader and writer, she loves poetry, philosophy, fantasy, and cultural commentary. She heartily recommends M.F.K. Fisher's The Art of Eating for anyone with a love of good writing, good food, and good living.

Jess, MSW

Personal Chef, Wellness Chef

Jess brings a rare blend of clinical expertise, creativity, and compassion to the table. She holds a Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California and has spent her career working in healthcare and nonprofit settings focused on nutrition accessibility. At The Arc San Francisco, she led food education initiatives for adults with intellectual disabilities, using home visits and hands-on coaching to help clients build confidence in the kitchen. Her work is rooted in a deep respect for individual preferences and long-term wellness goals.

A former art teacher and lifelong cook, Jess learned to cook from her mother, a writer and former chef, who instilled in her a love of food as both nourishment and creative expression. That foundation informs every dish she creates, whether it's designed to support recovery, build strength, or foster sustainable habits. With an empathetic eye and an educator's mindset, Jess ensures every meal aligns with each client's lifestyle, helping people feel more connected to how they eat, move, and live.
